Weight Loss and Health
For the dog that just can’t say NO, we offer our weight loss and fitness program. This centres around plenty of exercise and a special diet including a variety of tinned fish, meat, vegetables and kibble. This will provide a good kick-start to a healthy new lifestyle.
Playtime – The Benefits
Pet boarding can be a strange and daunting experience for your pet, more so nowadays when our pets are so integrated within the family.
Separation anxiety can manifest itself in a number of ways including fretting and pining, loss of appetite, bed-wetting and destructive chewing of toys and bedding.
At Woodcroft we offer the option of individual playtime for your dog or cat when a member of our staff will devote time to your pet.
For active animals this may involve throwing a Frisbee, a ball, or playing cat and mouse.
For quieter animals it may just involve a cuddle and some soothing grooming. Each playtime ends with a treat.
As a general rule we find that animals relax and settle down to kennel life better if they can enjoy a regular playtime.
Trial Stays
Many owners are concerned when they first leave their pet at a boarding establishment. We introduced trial stays at the behest of customers and we have found it to be useful, particularly if extended overseas travel is envisaged.
At Woodcroft we recommend a trial stay of two to three days so that we can assess how a dog will react to this new experience.
This process involves socialising with others, staying in a new and strange place and being away from family. We keep the pet close to our working environment and integrate them into our daily routine.
We can then be sure that your dog will be happy and settled while you are away.
